Connect AccountBook

Connect AccountBook with your AccountBook login to read invoices, receipts (with how each was paid), credit notes and customers next to your bank data.

Connect AccountBook

AccountBook (by ט.מ.ל) is one of the business systems you can connect to Financy, next to Invoice4U, Morning, SUMIT, iCount and Invoice Maven. Once connected, Financy reads your invoicing documents and customers and puts them next to the banks and cards you already linked. Financy only reads AccountBook: it never issues, changes or sends a document there.

ℹ️

Available on Starter, Pro and Ultra. AccountBook is in beta.

What Financy reads

InvoicesTax invoices (חשבונית מס) and deal invoices (חשבונית עסקה / חשבון עסקה), open or closed
Other documentsReceipts, invoice-receipts, credit notes and donation receipts
How it was paidEach receipt's payment lines: cash, cheque, card, bank transfer or standing order, the amount and the date, and for a card its last four digits and number of payments
CustomersName, tax id, whether they have an email, and whether AccountBook marks them inactive
ReceivablesWho owes you, how much, and since when

An invoice is owed until AccountBook closes it. A receipt or credit note made from an invoice in AccountBook is linked to it, so a partly paid invoice shows what is left. Quotes and orders are not read.

The first sync reads the last 3 months, with invoices and credit notes back 24 months; older receipts follow. After that Financy reads AccountBook on a schedule (about every hour), plus a weekly rescan.

Connect

AccountBook has no API keys: its API signs in with the same username and password you use for AccountBook itself. API access must be open on your AccountBook account first; if it isn't, ask AccountBook support (03-7552510) to open it. If AccountBook opens a separate read-only API user for you, enter that user instead of your own login.

  1. In Financy go to Accounts → Business systems (חשבונות ← מערכות עסקיות). AccountBook is listed under Invoicing (חשבוניות).
  2. Next to AccountBook click Connect (חיבור) and enter your AccountBook username and password on the secure page.

Financy verifies the login, stores it in an encrypted vault and runs the first sync. The password never passes through a chat.

⚠️

If you change your AccountBook password, the connection stops: click Reconnect (חיבור מחדש) on the AccountBook row and enter the new one. Financy never retries a password AccountBook refused, so it never adds to AccountBook's failed-attempts lock.

⚠️ For now Financy connects an AccountBook user that works in one business. A user with several businesses can't be connected yet, and if a connected user later gains a second business, Financy stops reading rather than risk mixing them.

Access from external AI apps

Settings → MCP connection → Access from external AI apps (הגדרות ← חיבור ל-MCP ← גישה מאפליקציות AI חיצוניות) decides whether ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP clients can read your AccountBook data: Off (כבוי) or Read only (קריאה בלבד, the default on connect). AccountBook takes no drafts, so there is nothing to approve. The setting is valid for one year.

Read it through the API

With the same API credentials you use for bank data, AccountBook's documents, customers and receivables are under https://api.open-finance.ai/integrations. See Business systems API. AccountBook takes no drafts: creating one answers 503 WRITES_DISABLED.

Disconnect

On the AccountBook row open the ⋯ menu, choose Disconnect (ניתוק) and confirm. Your login is deleted immediately and Financy stops reading AccountBook. The data disappears from Financy right away, and the copy kept on our side is deleted within seven days. Nothing changes in AccountBook itself.

Troubleshooting

"The provider did not accept this key" (הספק לא קיבל את המפתח הזה): The username or password was mistyped, or the password was changed in AccountBook. Click Reconnect (חיבור מחדש) and enter it again.

The user is blocked: AccountBook blocks a user after failed sign-ins or a long time without use. Sign in to AccountBook (or ask its support) to unblock it, then reconnect.

No API access: Ask AccountBook support to open API access for your account, then reconnect.

"Available on the Starter plan and above" (זמין בתוכנית Starter ומעלה): Click Upgrade (שדרוג) next to it.
