Connect SUMIT
Connect SUMIT with a company ID and API key to read invoices, receipts, credit notes and customers next to your bank data, and ask Financy, ChatGPT or Claude who still owes you.
Connect SUMIT
SUMIT is one of the business systems you can connect to Financy, next to Invoice4U and Morning. Once connected, Financy reads your invoicing documents and customers and puts them next to the banks and cards you already linked.
Available on Starter, Pro and Ultra.
What Financy reads
| Invoices | Open, overdue, partly paid and paid tax invoices |
| Proformas | Included in receivables (who still owes you) |
| Other documents | Receipts, invoice-receipts, credit notes |
| Customers | Name and contact details of each counterparty |
| Receivables | Who owes you, how much, and since when |
Data refreshes from SUMIT on a schedule (about every hour), plus a full rescan weekly. Because Financy also sees your bank transactions, it can tell you which open invoices look paid — a matching transfer already arrived. Every issued document opens from Financy through SUMIT's own document link.
Connect
- Sign in to SUMIT.
- Open the API settings and create an API key.
- In Financy go to Connections → Business systems. SUMIT is listed under Invoicing.
- Next to SUMIT click Connect and paste the Company ID and the API key on the secure page.
SUMIT sits under Business systems → Invoicing, next to Invoice4U and Morning:
The connect sheet lists where to find the key and shows SUMIT's two warnings, then asks for the Company ID and the API key:
A SUMIT key can also charge saved cards. Financy only reads your documents and customers — it never charges a card or acts in SUMIT.⚠️ SUMIT deletes API keys that go unused for 120 days. While SUMIT is connected, Financy uses the key on every sync; if it is deleted anyway, create a new key and click Connect again.
Financy verifies the key, stores it in an encrypted vault and runs the first sync. The key never passes through a chat.
Once connected, the row shows the business it reads, when it last updated, and what external AI apps may do:
Documents
Financy reads SUMIT today; it does not issue documents in SUMIT. Keep issuing in SUMIT itself. To issue invoices and receipts through Financy (as drafts you approve), connect Invoice4U or Morning.
Access from external AI apps
Settings → Access from external AI apps decides whether ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP clients can read SUMIT data: Off or Read only (default on connect). The setting is valid for one year.
Disconnect
On the SUMIT row click Disconnect. The key is deleted immediately and Financy stops reading SUMIT. The data disappears from Financy right away, and the copy kept on our side is deleted within seven days. Nothing changes in SUMIT itself.
Must-know
| Plan | Starter, Pro or Ultra |
| Credentials | Company ID + API key |
| Writes | None — Financy reads SUMIT only |
| "Looks paid" | A matching bank transfer, not a status change in SUMIT |
| Freshness | About hourly, not real time |
| Customers | Financy never messages or charges your customers |
Troubleshooting
"Invalid key" — The Company ID and the key must belong to the same SUMIT company, and the key must not be revoked or deleted. Create a new key if needed and connect again.
Stopped updating — SUMIT may have deleted the key. Create a new one and click Connect again next to SUMIT.
"Not included in your plan" — Upgrade to Starter or above.
